Click **Accept** and close Preferences. Now, in Blender’s Asset Browser, choose **no3d tools library** from the Asset Libraries dropdown. Your Chrome Crayon assets are ready to use—just drag them into your project! --- ### Adding Chrome Crayon to an Existing Asset Library If you already have an asset library folder (for example, **no3d tools library**): 1. Copy `Chrome Crayon.blend` into your existing **no3d tools library** folder. 2. Open `Chrome Crayon.blend` in Blender. 3. Mark your desired assets (**Mark as Asset**), and save the file. 4. In Blender’s Asset Browser, make sure your asset library is selected. Chrome Crayon assets will now appear—drag them into your project whenever you need them! That's it! --- ## Using the Chrome Crayon Asset Drag-and-Drop from Asset Browser 1. **Open Asset Browser** - Go to the Asset Browser panel in Blender (accessible in the main window, or via Area change). 2. **Find Chrome Crayon** - Look in the section or category (such as Materials, Node Groups, or Objects) where you saved the Chrome Crayon asset. 3. **Use the Asset** - For materials: drag and drop Chrome Crayon onto your selected object in the 3D viewport. - For node groups: drag directly into the Shader Editor. - For objects: drag into your scene collection. --- ## Customizing the Chrome Crayon Asset Chrome Crayon assets are fully customizable. - To customize parameters, look in the **Modifier panel** when the node group is added as a modifier—there you'll find all adjustable settings. - OR use the included **custom gizmo interface** that appears in the 3D Viewport when the asset is selected, allowing interactive adjustment of key parameters. ### For Objects - Imported Chrome Crayon objects come fully set up with the material applied. You can duplicate, modify, or combine them as you choose. - To tweak how the Chrome Crayon effect appears, check the Modifier panel for node group controls, or use the in-scene gizmo interface for hands-on adjustments in the 3D view. --- ## Advanced Usage - **Mixing with Other Assets**: Combine Chrome Crayon assets with Blender's other assets—use node groups to create advanced utilties never before seen by man. - **Procedural Customization**: Add new parameters, dynamic generative properties, or animations to the geometry node group inputs or structure for unique, dynamic shapes and effects. --- ## Troubleshooting Common Geometry Node Group Issues - **Asset Not Showing Up in Asset Browser**: - Ensure your Chrome Crayon node group is saved and marked as an Asset (`Right-click → Mark as Asset`) in Blender. - Check that your Asset Library path is set up in Blender Preferences ([Blender Manual: Asset Libraries](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/asset_browser.html#asset-libraries)). - **Node Group Inputs Not Editable**: - If you can't see or adjust parameters, confirm the node group's inputs are properly exposed ([Blender: Exposing Group Inputs](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/geometry_nodes/geometry_node_group.html#inputs)). - In the Modifier panel, make sure any custom properties or controls are visible; unhide them in the node group if needed. - **Unexpected Results or Errors**: - Use the recommended Blender version (5.0.0+). Geometry nodes may not be fully compatible across versions ([Blender: Geometry Nodes Versioning](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/geometry_nodes/index.html#versioning)). - Check for mismatched or missing node connections. - **Slow or Laggy Viewport Performance**: - Node groups can increase computational load. Try reducing mesh resolution or disabling subdivisions. - Switch to the Eevee render engine for faster feedback ([Viewport Performance Tips](https://www.blender.org/manual/editors/3dview/navigate/viewports.html#viewport-performance)). - Hide heavy geometry or use “Simplify” viewport settings ([Blender Docs: Simplify](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/simplify.html)). - **Inputs or Controls Missing in 3D View**: - If the custom gizmo interface isn’t visible, ensure the asset is selected and you’re in Object Mode or the correct workspace. - Custom gizmo features require Blender 3.6 or higher ([Blender: Custom Gizmos](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/advanced/gizmos/index.html)). - **Broken Geometry or Mesh Artifacts**: - Clean up input curves to avoid overlapping or non-manifold segments ([Blender: Curve Editing](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/curves/editing/introduction.html)). - Use Blender’s “Clean Up” tools for curves and meshes ([Clean Up Mesh Tools](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/meshes/editing/cleanup.html)). - **Asset Updates Not Showing in Browser**: - After making changes, re-save and re-mark the node group as an asset, then refresh the Asset Browser. - If problems persist, restart Blender or force a library reload ([Asset Browser Troubleshooting](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/asset_browser.html#troubleshooting)). > For additional support, see the [Blender Geometry Nodes Manual](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/geometry_nodes/) and [Asset Browser Documentation](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/asset_browser.html), or search [Blender Stack Exchange](https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/geometry-nodes) for community solutions. --- ## Tips and Best Practices 1. **Start Simple**: Begin by applying the asset with its default settings to see how it works out of the box. Once you’re comfortable, experiment by tweaking parameters and making more advanced adjustments for custom results. 2. **Customize and Save**: Tweak Chrome Crayon assets and save your own variations to your Asset Library. For guidance on making your own custom node groups, refer to [Blender's Creating Custom Node Groups documentation](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/geometry_nodes/geometry_node_group.html#creating-and-editing-node-groups). --- ## Support & Resources - [Blender Asset Browser Documentation](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/asset_browser.html) - [Blender Geometry Nodes Manual](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/geometry_nodes/) - [Node Dojo Manual](https://node-dojo-manual.readthedocs.io/) --- ## CL Breadboard Type: Blender Object | Asset: OBJECT | Blender: 4.0.0+ | Tags: blender, static-mesh, hardware, electronics, reference-model | Handle: cl-breadboard Breadboard reference model for electronics project visualization ## Parameters ``` Static mesh asset — no configurable parameters. ``` ## License Personal/non-commercial use only. To use just drag-and-drop this node group from your asset library into your node editor ... Which can be especially handy for instancing the same bolt in several places in the node system: ## Modifying the Bolt To modify bolt settings: - Use Gizmos to directly modify bolt parameters in a more intuitive, free-flowing way - use numerical parameter inputs in the group node to be more precise: - plug parameters into node system for procedurally set bolt settings ## 3D Printing Aides There are multiple ways to print the bolt once it's ready. And these different bolt printing configurations are avaialble either from this dropdown or from the output sockets of the node group. That way mulitple different configs can be accessed in the node system without needing mulitple bolt node groups cluttering the editor: - Split to Print - T-bolts - --- ## Dojo Bolt Gen v05_Obj Type: Blender Add-on | Asset: MESH | Blender: 5.0.0+ | Tags: blender, addon, 3d, asset, PRocedural, Mesh Generator, 3D printable | Handle: dojo-bolt-gen-v05-obj # Dojo Bolt Gen v05_Obj ## Description The Object version of the now infamous Dojo Bolt Gen -- a drag-and-drop bolt asset that comes pre-configured as a scene object with all the same parametric controls as the node group version. Higher values create more dense patterns. - **Stipple Scale**: Adjusts the size of individual stipple marks. Larger values create bigger dots. - **Contrast**: Fine-tunes the visibility and sharpness of the stipple pattern. Higher contrast makes dots more distinct. - **Base Color**: The underlying color of the material surface. - **Stipple Color**: The color of the stipple dots themselves (can differ from base color for layered effects). ### For Materials - Imported Tarot Stipple Material comes fully set up with optimized node groups. - To tweak how the stipple effect appears, check the Material Properties panel for node group controls. - You can modify individual nodes in the Shader Editor for advanced customization. --- ## Advanced Usage - **Mixing with Other Materials**: Combine Tarot Stipple Material with Blender's other materials using Mix Shader nodes to create advanced layered effects. - **Procedural Customization**: Modify the node group structure in the Shader Editor to add new parameters, dynamic properties, or animations for unique, dynamic stipple effects. - **Texture Mapping**: Use UV mapping or procedural coordinates to control how the stipple pattern is applied across your object's surface. - **Animation**: Keyframe material properties to create animated stipple effects that evolve over time. --- ## Troubleshooting Common Material Issues - **Material Not Showing Up in Asset Browser**: - Ensure your Tarot Stipple Material is saved and marked as an Asset (`Right-click → Mark as Asset`) in Blender. - Check that your Asset Library path is set up in Blender Preferences ([Blender Manual: Asset Libraries](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/asset_browser.html#asset-libraries)). - **Material Parameters Not Editable**: - If you can't see or adjust parameters, confirm the material's node group inputs are properly exposed ([Blender: Exposing Group Inputs](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/geometry_nodes/geometry_node_group.html#inputs)). - In the Material Properties panel, make sure any custom properties or controls are visible; unhide them in the node group if needed. - **Unexpected Results or Errors**: - Use the recommended Blender version (4.5+). Material nodes may not be fully compatible across versions. - Check for mismatched or missing node connections in the Shader Editor. - **Slow or Laggy Viewport Performance**: - Complex material node setups can increase computational load. Try simplifying the material or reducing viewport quality settings. - Switch to the Eevee render engine for faster feedback ([Viewport Performance Tips](https://www.blender.org/manual/editors/3dview/navigate/viewports.html#viewport-performance)). - Use "Simplify" viewport settings for faster preview ([Blender Docs: Simplify](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/simplify.html)). - **Stipple Pattern Not Visible**: - Ensure your object has proper UV mapping or generated coordinates. - Check that the material is assigned to the correct material slot. - Adjust lighting in your scene to make the stipple texture more visible. - Increase the Contrast parameter to make stipple dots more distinct. - **Asset Updates Not Showing in Browser**: - After making changes, re-save and re-mark the material as an asset, then refresh the Asset Browser. - If problems persist, restart Blender or force a library reload ([Asset Browser Troubleshooting](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/asset_browser.html#troubleshooting)). > For additional support, see the [Blender Material Manual](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/materials/index.html) and [Asset Browser Documentation](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/asset_browser.html), or search [Blender Stack Exchange](https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/materials) for community solutions. --- ## Tips and Best Practices 1. **Start Simple**: Begin by applying the material with its default settings to see how it works out of the box. Once you're comfortable, experiment by tweaking parameters and making more advanced adjustments for custom results. 2. **Customize and Save**: Tweak Tarot Stipple Material and save your own variations to your Asset Library. For guidance on making your own custom materials, refer to [Blender's Material Documentation](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/materials/index.html). 3. **Lighting Considerations**: The stipple pattern is most visible with appropriate lighting. Membership products and permanently purchased products appear in Blender's Asset Browser, ready to drag into any project. New and updated assets can sync automatically when you open Blender. --- ## Requirements - Blender 5.0 or newer - An active membership, one or more individually purchased products, or a free No3D Tools account - A No3d Tools account — access follows your sign-in, not a license key --- ## Installation ### Step 1: Add the No3D Tools Repository On the computer where Blender is installed, open the [No3D Tools setup page](https://no3dtools.com/v3/account/?state=install) and click **Open in Blender**. This adds the official No3D Tools repository to Blender's native Extensions system. ### Step 2: Install in Blender 1. Open Blender 2. Go to **Edit → Preferences → Get Extensions** 3. Find **No3D Tools** in the No3D Tools repository 4. Click **Install** ### Step 3: Open the Extension Preferences 1. Go to **Edit → Preferences → Add-ons** 2. Search for **No3D Tools** 3. Expand the extension preferences Manual ZIP installation remains available from the setup page as a fallback. Native repository installation is recommended because Blender can deliver extension updates automatically. --- ## Setup ### Sign In With Your Account 1. In the addon preferences (Edit → Preferences → Add-ons → No3d Tools Membership), find the **Account** section 2. Click **Connect Account** and sign in with your No3d Tools email 3. Approve the connection in your browser when prompted 4. Status should show: **Connected** ✓ There is no license key to enter or validate. Your entitlements — membership, individual purchases, and free tools — are granted to your account, and the extension requests them when you connect. If you have not used the site before, create an account first at [no3dtools.com/v3/account/](https://no3dtools.com/v3/account/). ### Set Your Library Path The addon stores synced assets in a local folder. The default is `~/no3d-tools-library/`. To change it: 1. In the addon preferences, find the **Library** section 2. Click the folder icon next to **Path** 3. Choose where you want your assets stored 4. The folder will be created automatically if it doesn't exist ### Sync Your Library 1. Click **Sync Now** in the addon preferences 2. The addon will: - Confirm your account connection and fetch your entitlements - Download the asset manifest - Download all .blend files that are new or updated - Skip files that haven't changed (checksum-based) 3. First sync downloads the entire library (~500MB depending on your plan) 4. Future syncs only download what's changed (usually <10MB) ### Enable Auto-Sync Check **"Sync on startup"** to automatically sync when Blender opens. The sync runs in the background — it won't block you from working. --- ## Using Your Assets ### Open the Asset Browser 1. In any Blender workspace, open the **Asset Browser** (or change a panel to Asset Browser type) 2. In the dropdown at the top left, select **NO3D Tools** 3. All your synced assets will appear ### Using Assets in Your Scene - **Geometry Node tools**: Drag onto any mesh object to add as a modifier - **Materials**: Drag onto any object to apply - **Mesh objects**: Drag into the viewport to add to your scene - **Collections**: Drag to instance an entire collection ### Browsing by Category Assets are organized by Blender's catalog system. Use the sidebar in the Asset Browser to filter by category (tools, materials, objects, etc.). --- ## Managing Your Subscription ### Check Status In the addon preferences, the **Status** line shows: - **Active** ✓ — Your subscription is current - **Grace Period** ⚠ — Payment failed, you have 7 days to update your payment method - **Expired** ✗ — Subscription ended, sync disabled ### Update Payment / Cancel Visit [no3dtools.com/v3/account/](https://no3dtools.com/v3/account/) to: - View your subscription status - Update your payment method - Cancel your subscription - Access Stripe's billing portal ### Re-subscribe If your subscription expired, visit [the NO3D Tools membership page](https://no3dtools.com/v3/membership/) to re-subscribe. Your existing account and purchases are unaffected — there is no key to reissue. --- ## Troubleshooting ### "Not connected" or account not recognized - Confirm you are signed in at [no3dtools.com/v3/account/](https://no3dtools.com/v3/account/) - In the addon preferences, click **Connect Account** again and re-approve in the browser - An addon update may require reconnecting once ### "Sync failed" - Check your internet connection - Confirm the account still shows **Connected**, then click **Sync Now** - If the error persists, the server may be temporarily down — try again in a few minutes ### Assets not showing in Asset Browser - Make sure the **NO3D Tools** library is selected in the Asset Browser dropdown (top left) - Try closing and reopening the Asset Browser - Check that the library path in addon preferences points to the correct folder - Run **Sync Now** to refresh ### Extension not appearing in Preferences - Confirm the No3D Tools repository is enabled in **Preferences → Get Extensions** - Restart Blender after installation - Check that you're running Blender 5.0 or newer ### Lost access to your library - Sign in at [no3dtools.com/v3/account/](https://no3dtools.com/v3/account/) and confirm your purchases and membership are listed - Reconnect the addon with **Connect Account** - Use the account page's connection-help panel if the library still will not load - Contact support if your paid products are missing from your account --- ## Quick Reference | Action | How | |--------|-----| | Install extension | Setup page → Open in Blender → Get Extensions → Install | | Connect your account | Addon preferences → Account → Connect Account | | Sync assets | Addon preferences → Sync Now | | Auto-sync | Addon preferences → check "Sync on startup" | | Browse assets | Asset Browser → select "NO3D Tools" library | | Use a tool | Drag from Asset Browser onto a mesh object | | Manage subscription | [no3dtools.com/v3/account/](https://no3dtools.com/v3/account/) | | Get support | [no3dtools.com](https://no3dtools.com) |
